Development of a three-dimensional vibrating tactile probe for miniature CMMs

► A novel 3D vibration micro-CMM probe has been developed. ► The design, modelling, manufacture and assembly of this micro-probe are presented. ► The testing in two vibration directions are discussed in depth. ► The micro-probe successfully counteracts unwanted surface interaction forces. ► It is concluded that the micro-CMM probe operates as intended.
