Turbulence downstream of subcoronary stentless and stented aortic valves

► Turbulence downstream of aortic valves was investigated in bioprostheses and in native porcine valves. ► Turbulence increases with increasing blood pressure and cardiac output. ► Native aortic valves are superior to bioprostheses regarding turbulence. ► Stentless bioprostheses does not exert less turbulence than stented bioprostheses.
