A double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot trial of acamprosate for the treatment of cocaine dependence

► Acamprosate (1998 mg daily) was evaluated for the treatment of cocaine dependence in a small nine week pilot trial (n = 60). ► Acamprosate was well tolerated. ► Acamprosate was not superior to placebo in promoting abstinence from cocaine.
