Biased interpretation in perfectionism and its modification

► We measured high and low perfectionists' interpretations of ambiguous information. ► Perfectionists showed interpretation biases specific to perfection relevant material. ► Experimental manipulation of these biases produced changes in perfectionist behaviours. ► The data suggest one mechanism of therapeutic change in disorders related to perfectionism.
