► We outline an integrative model on psychological representations of bodily states. ► We combine so far isolated models from different research domains. ► Domains include social psychology, health psychology, and clinical psychology.► The aim is to assess the perception of bodily states in an optimal way and to explain the conditional relationship of bodily states with affect and behavior.
