Measuring consciousness in dreams: The lucidity and consciousness in dreams scale

► We present a factor-analytically generated scale to measure consciousness in dreams. ► Eight factors were empirically derived and validated. ► Insight is the core criterion for lucid dreams. ► The scale allows to distinguish between normal REM sleep dreams and lucid dreams.
