Perceptually specific and perceptually non-specific influences on rereading benefits for spatially transformed text: Evidence from eye movements

► Eye tracking is used to examine rereading benefits for spatially transformed text. ► Rereading benefits were impacted by a perceptual congruency manipulation. ► Rereading benefits also reflected perceptually non-specific influences. ► The effects were shown after a 1 week lag, and for both high and low frequency words. ► We discuss unconscious memory, and conceptual versus perceptual processing.
