Personality modulation of (un)conscious processing: Novelty Seeking and performance following supraliminal and subliminal reward cues

► Subliminal and supraliminal reward cues were presented before an updating task. ► Low Novelty Seeking (NS) participants performed better when rewards were presented unconsciously than consciously. ► High NS participants' performance did not differ whether reward cues were presented subliminally or supraliminally. ► The need to include personality in subliminal and consciousness research is discussed.
