The effect of generation and age on turnout to the European Parliament - How turnout will continue to decline in the future

► The separate effect of generations, age and period are estimated for EP Elections. ► Post-baby-boomer generations turnout less than pre-baby boomer generations. ► A strong curvilinear age effect is found. ► Future changes in generation and age composition can cause further decline in turnout.
