Modeling the epidemic waves of AH1N1/09 influenza around the world

► We propose several epidemiological mathematical models for AH1N1/09. ► The models were fitted to time series notifications from selected regions. ► For some regions the classical SEIR model was not able to reproduce time series. ► For two waves series we use the proposed two community models. ► If social network or spatial structure is known, new outbreaks may be forecasted.
