On the mean residual life order of convolutions of independent uniform random variables

► Convolution of uniform random variables with different scale parameters is studied. ► Usual majorization, p-larger and reciprocal majorization (rm) orders are introduced. ► Mean residual functions (MRF) of these convolutions are ordered with respect to rm. ► Bounds on the MRF in terms of harmonic mean of scale parameters are obtained. ► These bounds are sharper than those in terms of arithmetic and geometric means.
