Comparative study of soluble naphthalene diimide derivatives bearing long alkyl chains as n-type organic thin-film transistor materials

► Soluble materials for n-type organic thin film transistors (TFTs) were evaluated. ► Naphthalene diimides (NTCDIs) with long alkyl chains of different lengths were used. ► NTCDIs with diundecyl, didodecyl, and ditridecyl exhibited acceptable solubility. ► Their TFTs showed relatively high mobility (∼0.2 cm2/V s) after annealing at 150 °C.
