Linearly polarized emission from PTCDI-C8 one-dimensional microstructures

► One-dimensional microstructures and nanostructures of PTCDI-C8 were synthesized. ► These structures exhibited linearly polarized emission. ► Structural properties were investigated using X-ray diffraction studies. ► Structural properties are correlated with uniaxial optical properties using a model.
