Efficient nondoped blue organic light-emitting diodes based on phenanthroimidazole-substituted anthracene derivatives

► A series of new robust pure blue fluorescence materials were developed. ► Anthracene and phenanthro[9,10-d]imidazole functional cores were structured. ► Non-doped devices based on these new compounds exhibit good pure blue emission. ► The blue device show negligible efficiency roll off at high current densities.
