Orientation management of α-sexithiophene layer for the application in organic photovoltaic devices

► α-Sexithiophene (6T) films were deposited on oriented polythiophene (PT) films. ► The 6T molecular axis was parallel to the molecular axis of the PT substrate. ► Organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices based on the oriented 6T layers were fabricated. ► OPV performance increased by 6T molecular orientation management. ► Response to polarized light was also observed.
