Directed emissive high efficient white transparent organic light emitting diodes with double layered capping layers

► Organic capping layer (CL) of TAPC/ZnSe were added to white transparent organic light-emitting diodes (TOLEDs). ► We investigated the optical effects of CL on white TOLED by combining simulations and experiments. ► Total emission efficiency was enhanced to have 90% of that of conventional bottom-emissive device. ► Almost identical bottom and top spectra with very low difference in CIE of (0.011, 0.014) were achieved. ► High values of bottom/top and selective emission from bottom-side were obtained.
