Coarse-grained kinetic modelling of bilayer heterojunction organic solar cells

► Kinetic Monte Carlo too demanding for organic solar cells with ohmic contacts. ► A reduced one-dimensional kinetic model is proposed to overcome this limitation. ► Cathode/PCBM/P3HT/PEDOT:PSS/ITO bilayer devices are investigated. ► Fit to the experimental data requires Fermi level pinning and large exciton diffusion.
