An asymmetric dinuclear copper(II) complex with phenoxo and acetate bridges: Synthesis, structure and magnetic studies

► Di-nuclear (μ2-acetate)bis(μ2-phenoxide)di-copper(II) complex has been synthesized. ► The single crystal X-ray structure of the di-nuclear complex was determined. ► Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement indicates strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the copper(II) centres. ► The Cu-Cu distance (2.911 Å) is very close to the distance observed in di-nuclear copper(II) acetate. ► The average Cu-O-Cu angles (∼87°) are found to be the lowest amongst the examples reported so far.
