Two novel rhenium complexes derived from [ReO(OMe)Cl2(dpphen)] - Synthesis, crystal structure, spectroscopic and magnetic properties

► [ReO(OMe)Cl2(dpphen)] was proven to be an excellent oxygen atom transfer reagent. ► Two rhenium complexes of 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline were synthesized and characterized. ► The spectroscopic features of the complexes were investigated by DFT and TD-DFT.
