Novel silver(I)-saccharinate complexes exhibiting Ag···π and C-H···Ag close interactions with a new coordination mode of saccharinate

► In the paper, two novel Ag(I) complexes, [Ag2(μ3-sac)2(μ-nmpen)]n (1) and [Ag(sac)(mpr)]2, have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes 1 and 2 exhibit rare C-H···Ag hydrogen bonding interactions. Furthermore, it appears that the complex 2 involved the Ag···C (η1) interactions between the Ag atoms and phenyl groups of sac ligand. In addition, a new coordination mode of the sac ligand is observed in 1. These complexes exhibit a three-dimensional (3D) framework based on π···π, C-O···π, C-H···π, Ag···Csac and C-H···Ag interactions.
