A trimethoxyphenyl substituted ansa-titanocene: A possible anti-cancer drug

The water soluble ansa-titanocene [1,2-di(cyclopentadienyl)-1,2-di-(3′,4′,5′-trimethoxyphenyl)-ethanediyl] titanium dichloride is a possible anti-cancer drug and was synthesised starting from 6-(3′,4′,5′-trimethoxyphenyl) fulvene. Herein, we present the synthesis and calculated structures of the fulvene and the titanocene followed by MTT-based cytotoxicity tests on pig kidney carcinoma (LLC-PK) cells.
