The EPR pattern of CrV complexes of d-ribose derivatives

1-Substituted d-ribose derivatives form stable CrV bischelates where the ligand is bound to CrV through the 2,3-diolato moiety of the furanose ring. CrV complexes formed with the α- and β-d-ribose derivatives can be easily identified by EPR spectroscopy.
