Novel inorganic-organic hybrids based on oxo-bridged M6(M) centered octahedral cage

Three new polyoxometalates, namely, Cd9L6(H2O)12 · 19H2O (1) (L = MeN(CH2CO2)(CH2PO3)), {Zn7L6}{Ni(bipy)(H2O)4}2 · 16H2O (2) (bipy = 4,4-bipyridine) and [H3O]{Zn7L6}{Ni(H2O)2(bipy)2}1.5 · 12H2O (3) are reported.The [Cd6(Cd)L6] cages in 1 are interconnected by Cd2O2 dimeric units into a 2D layer.The {Zn6(Zn)L6}4− clusters in 2 and 3 remain isolated.
