Synthesis, crystal structure and spectroscopic characterization of a novel bis (oxo-bridged) dinuclear vanadium(V)-dipicolinic acid complex

A new bis(oxo-bridged) binuclear compound of formula [CH3NHC(NH2)2]2[V2O4(dipic)2] has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and spectroscopic techniques. The compound sits at a crystallographic inversion center with the pair of V(V) atoms in an edge-sharing distorted octahedral environment. Two methyl-guanidinium acts as counterions for charge balance.
