Some trans-chlorobis(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II) complexes with N,N,O-donor N-(aroyl)-N′-(picolinylidene)hydrazines

Syntheses, characterization and physical properties of complexes having the formula trans-[RuIIL(PPh3)2Cl] where L− represents deprotonated tridentate Schiff bases derived from one mole equivalent each of 2-pyridinecarbaldehyde and aroylhydrazines have been described. The complexes are redox active and display several absorptions in the electronic spectra.
