Analysis of diversity and relationships among mango cultivars using Start Codon Targeted (SCoT) markers

► Start Codon Targeted (SCoT) which is a simple and novel marker system was first applied in mango. ► We designed new 44 SCoT primers and selected Thirty-three primers from eighty SCoT primers used in this study. ► There is a high level of polymorphism among mango cultivars and their relative species in Guangxi province of China. Each cultivar in this study could be distinguished from others by utilizing 33 primers, but a single SCoT primer could not distinguish all accessions independently.
