Effects of Zn on the glass forming ability and mechanical properties of MgLi-based bulk metallic glasses

► With the addition of Zn element, MgLi-based bulk metallic glasses were fabricated. ► Their GFA, thermal stability and strength were much higher than Zn free alloys. ► The effects of Zn content on the properties of Mg-Li-Cu-Zn-(Y, Gd) were studied.
