Influence of the macro and micro-porous structure on the mechanical behavior of poly(l-lactic acid) scaffolds

► Micro and macropores modulated PLLA scaffold mechanical properties. ► Solvent content controls micro- and macro-pore sizes. ► Macro-porogen amount modulates the size of pore throats, and also macropores diameter. ► Systematic variation of parameters produced scaffolds with modulus from 0.9 to 8.4 MPa.
