Characteristics and biocompatibility of Na2O-K2O-CaO-MgO-SrO-B2O3-P2O5 borophosphate glass fibers

► A novel Na2O-K2O-CaO-MgO-SrO-B2O3-P2O5 borophosphate glass fiber is prepared. ► The reaction of the glass fibers in the SBF solution is characterized by XRD, FTIR and SEM. ► The bioactivity and biocompatibility of the glass fiber are measured.
