Effect of roller burnishing on the high cycle fatigue performance of the high-strength wrought magnesium alloy AZ80

Roller burnishing improves the high cycle fatigue performance of AZ80. An improvement of 110% in the fatigue strength is achieved at the optimum condition. Roller burnishing is more effective than shot peening in enhancing the fatigue life of AZ80.
