A new analysis of pressure filtration curves for liquid aluminum alloys

The filtrate weight versus filtration time curves of the pressure filtration tests are analyzed for the first time using the first and second derivative methods to investigate the flow behaviors of liquid metal. Three stages, i.e. initial transient, steady and terminal transient, are found during the course of the filtration.
