Ultrafine-grained Al-Al2Cu composite produced in situ by friction stir processing

Ultrafine-grained Al-Al2Cu composite can be fabricated in situ by friction stir processing. The Al2Cu particles are distributed quite homogeneously in the composite. The composite possesses enhanced Young's modulus, good compressive strength and reasonably good compressive ductility.
