Comparison of Linear Fresnel and Parabolic Trough Collector power plants

► Linear Fresnel Collector and Parabolic Trough are compared in this study. ► Comparison is done with respect to cost and to performance by simulation. ► Both concentrating collectors are operated in a 50 MW solar thermal power plant. ► Direct steam generation is considered for both collector types. ► Break-even cost for the Linear Fresnel are determined for several cases.
