Powder injection moulding of premixed ferritic and austenitic stainless steel powders

▶ Premixed ferritic and austenitic powders are processed by powder injection moulding. ▶ Feedstock with a powder loading of 68 vol.% presents an adequate rheological behaviour. ▶ The presence of powder makes difficult the solvent elimination of paraffin wax. ▶ Thermal debinding cycle developed lasts only 4 h. ▶ Ni diffusion from austenite to ferrite occurs and a duplex microstructure is observed.
