In situ synthesis of TiB whisker reinforcements in the joints of Al2O3/TC4 during brazing

▶ Al2O3 ceramic and TC4 alloy were successfully brazed by Ag-Cu-Ti-B mixed powder. ▶ TiBw was in situ synthesized during the brazing process. ▶ TiBw not only refined the microstructure of the joint but also alleviated the joint stress. ▶ The effect of the volume fraction of in situ TiBw on the microstructure of joints was studied. ▶ The effect of the volume fraction of in situ TiBw on the shear strength of joints was researched.
