Influence of deep cryogenic treatment on internal friction behavior in the process of tempering

▶ The secondary-hardening effect of the DCT treated samples was lower because of the elimination of retained austenite. ▶ The mobile dislocations are reduced after same tempering both in the DCT treated sample and the non-DCT treated sample which indicates the DCT treating made more carbon atoms formatting carbides during the tempering. ▶ An indirect evidence was made on more carbides precipitated after DCT to improve wear resistance.
