Effect of NiCrAlY platelets inclusion on the mechanical and thermal shock properties of glass matrix composites

▶ A substantial increment in toughness was achieved after the alloy platelets were added. ▶ Platelets debonding, crack deflection and bridging were the micromechanisms of toughening. ▶ NiCrAlY inclusions increased the thermal shock resistance of glass matrix.
