Microstructure development in hot deformed AA6082

▶ EBSD is used to determine grain and subgrain distributions of commercial alloys. ▶ Hot deformation of AA6082 occurs mainly through dynamic recovery. ▶ Geometric dynamic recrystallization takes place locally at the thinnest grains. ▶ gDRX is a more effective softening mechanism than dynamic recovery.
