Fe-based glassy alloys with high iron content and high saturation magnetization

► Iron-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) have been successfully prepared. ► The iron content is as high as 78 ∼ 81 at.%. ► The critical diameter of alloy rods for glass formation is 1-2 mm. ► The as-cast Fe81Mo1P7.5C5.5B2Si3 BMG possesses a saturation magnetization of 1.64 T. ► Flux treatment plays a favorable role on improving glass forming ability of the BMGs.
