Powder forged or C-70 steel? Now the MPIF strikes back

In the past 20 years powder forging has established a solid leadership in the US over rival forging methods for manufacturing internal combustion engine connecting rods. PF is gaining ground in other major markets such as Europe. But last year the American Iron and Steel Institute threw a rock into the calm pond of assumption, claiming a study at Toledo University showed that C-70 forging steel offered advantages over PF.
