Diffusion kinetics of borided AISI 52100 and AISI 440C steels

► In this research, kinetics of borided AISI 52100 and AISI 440C steels were studied. ► It was observed that the hardness of borides formed surface of steels is over 1500 HV0.05. ► Activation energies of borided AISI 440C and AISI 52100 steels were determined as 340.426 and 269.638 kJ/mol, respectively.
