Magnetic properties and magnetic structures of the CeScSi-type RMgPb (R=Ce-Nd, Sm, Gd-Tm) compounds

► Determination of the magnetic properties and magnetic structures of all the CeScSi-type RMgPb compounds. ► New series of antiferromagnetic compounds with CeScSi-type structure. ► Sine-wave modulated magnetic structure down to the lowest temperature for TbMgPb. ► Square-wave magnetic structure for RMgPb (R=Dy, Ho, Er) by occurrence of higher odd integer harmonics. ► Magnetic properties and magnetic structures of RMgPb compounds highly similar with those of the isotypic RMgSn compounds.
