Structure and magnetostriction of Ho1−xPrxFe1.9 alloys

► High-Pr content Ho1−xPrxFe1.9 cubic Laves phase was synthesized. ► The lattice parameter increases almost linearly with increasing x. ► The saturation magnetization first decreases and increases with increasing x. ► A magnetostrictive peak around x=0.2 and a minimum at x=0.4 were observed.
