Fluid particle advection in the vicinity of the Föppl vortex system

► Chaotic advection in the vicinity of the Föppl vortex system is studied. ► Due to periodic motion of the vortices, fluid particles can move chaotic. ► Particles from the vortex atmosphere are carried away from the atmosphere. ► The part of the carried away fluid particles is numerically assessed. ► The dynamics of the fluid release from the vortex atmosphere is demonstrated.
