Intérêt et faisabilité des systèmes Tevadaptor® et Phaseal® dans une unité centralisée de préparation des anticancéreux

To choose a device making safe the preparation and the administration of antineoplastics and evaluate its interest on the ergonomic, safety and economic level. Material-method: The two devices selected (Phaseal® and Tevadaptor®) are closed-system devices, allowing the reconstitution, the preparation and the administration of hazardous drugs. They have been evaluated on the following criteria: needlestick injuries and chemical contamination risks, ergonomics and facilitated realization of the preparations. The cost of their implementation was estimated. Results: The risks of puncture and contamination were considered to be weak. The facility of the taking away depends on the bottles volume. The transfer in infusion bags and the preparation of syringes were considered easy with the difference in the filling of the portable pumps considered to be more difficult. A more consequent number of sterilization and increase in waste (+ 50%) is observed. The use of each system would generate an overcost, estimated at least 160.000 € per year. Discussion-conclusion: Improvements must be made on the device (for an easier use of vials great volume, management of stock). The formation is essential. It is however undeniable that it brings a safety of reconstitution without equivalent among the currently available devices.
