Pinnatoxins and spirolides in Norwegian blue mussels and seawater

► Pinnatoxin G and spirolides are widespread in Norway. ► These may be responsible for some rapid mouse bioassay results on shellfish. ► Complex profiles with as many as 5 spirolides were observed. ► Pinnatoxins may be more toxic orally than spirolides.
