Biochemical and biological characterization of Escherichia coli STb His12 to Asn variant

► We compared the wild-type STb toxin with the variant previously identified by our group. ► Biochemical and biological tests indicated the two molecules behave similarly. ► Both molecules were active for attachment to the receptor and showed internalization in a cell line.
