Comparative study of the efficacy and safety of two polyvalent, caprylic acid fractionated [IgG and F(ab′)2] antivenoms, in Bothrops asper bites in Colombia

► A whole IgG and an F(ab′)2 antivenoms were compared in a randomized clinical trial. ► Both antivenoms were similarly effective in halting manifestations of envenoming. ► There were no differences in the incidence of early adverse reactions to antivenoms.
