Cation dependencies and turnover rates of the human K+-dependent Na+-Ca2+ exchangers NCKX1, NCKX2, NCKX3 and NCKX4

- SLC24 gene family codes for 5 different K+-dependent Na+-Ca2+ exchangers (NCKX1-5).
- We used a fluorescence based assay to look at different cation dependencies of NCKX1-4.
- No physiologically significant differences in cation transport that would explain the differences in expression of NCKXs.
