Role of kruppel-like transcription factors in adipogenesis

► KLF4 stimulates adipogenesis by activating C/EBPβ with Krox20. ► KLF6 promotes preadipocyte differentiation through HDAC3 inhibition of Dlk1. ► KLF5, KLF9, and KLF15 stimulate adipocyte differentiation via transactivating PPARγ. ► KLF2 inhibits PPARγ, whereas KLF3 represses C/EBPα and CtBP during adipogenesis. ► KLF7 inhibits adipogenesis by decreasing the expression of both PPARγ and C/EBPα.
